Invictus Games 2014

Quantum had the honour of supplying both the opening and closing ceremony at Prince Harry’s very first Invictus Games in London, 2014.

After the Red Arrows crossed the sky trailing the colours of the Union Jack, the athlete’s parade took place with flag bearers cleverly creating the “I AM” letters on the pitch. We armed sea cadets with our handheld flares to mirror the smoke from the Arrows in the air and complete the picture on the ground.

For the final touch to the opening ceremony, three military singers performed Chris Martin’s anthem for the games as we released biodegradable yellow confetti form 12 strategically placed blowers.

The Closing Ceremony celebrated the achievements of the four-day event with a star-studded line up. Quantum provided blasts of CO2 jets for Diversity’s performance along with an explosion of jets, mines, comets and gerbs that were launched from speaker stacks and trusses around the stage. The Foo Fighters appeared as the final act and we supplied white streamers that covered flew over the 26,000 strong crowd.
