We are very proud to announce that we have been named Special Effects Company of the Year 2012 at the Event Production Awards.

We’d like to thank all at the Event Production Show, our clients and most importantly our fantastic (and hungover) team.

Our friends @ Stage Effects and Engineering charged us with supplying the whole of Mötley Crüe’s tour in the UK.

With tons of arena Pyrotechnics, more bangs than a brothel and three of our 5-fingered ‘firesun’ flames, we added a little more danger  to one of the worlds most dangerous bands!

Special thanks for to Robert ‘rags’ Long for not shouting at the crew too much, and Viggy for making young Jackson his cuddly teddy bear.

Following on from last years Pyrotechnic Spectacle for Katy Perry at the MTV EMAs in Madrid we were asked to supply the whole of the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast!

With a 40′ Truck rammed with SFX equipment shipped to Belfast we provided a whole hosts of effects including: Tons of Pyrotechnics, Firesuns, Spitfire Flames, Flame Bars, Low Smoke, Co2 Jets, Silent Storm Confetti Drops, and Super Shooter Confetti Blowers!

Six of our best SFX Crew pulled off the live TV broadcast to millions all over the world for artists including: Bruno Mars, Jessie Jay, David Guetta, Selina Gomez, LMFAO, Justin Bieber, Lady Gag, and Queen.

Quantum Special Effects were once again brought onboard by the Muse team to add additional explosive theatrics to their headline performances at Reading and Leeds Festivals.

Our team utilised our Firesun flames heads on the DSE to great effect, and to top off the set a huge Pyrotechnic Finale.

We are proud to work with Batman Live World Arena Tour in association with Stage & Effects Engineering Inc. Shaun Barnett is Pyrotechnic & Special Effects Consultant on the tour working closely with the design team to make their desired effects become reality on stage and offering alternative effects where need be.

Daniel Ivory-Castile is our SFX technician for the EU leg of the tour.

This ground breaking live arena production is a stage show unlike any other, where theatre production & Rock ”n” Roll touring combines. The result is a gripping and spectacular show that requires effects that compliment the story line and enhance the visual spectacle of the overall production.

We developed a range of props and effects specifically for this production, including pyrotechnic missile simulaters fired from the Batmobile, a pyro firing bazooka, a jet pack for the Joker and a exploding and burning Joker hot air balloon.

Quantum jumped at the chance to work with 90’s legends Pulp at this year’s Wireless Festival in Hyde Park London. We fired stadium shots for their classic hit “Common People”.

Biffy Clyro are having a fantastically successful year, we had a great time working with them last year so were pleased to be able to help out at their headlining slots at Sonisphere and Wakestock this year.

At Sonisphere we created a range of effects, including waterfalls, some delicate falling stars cued for the choruses of their hit ‘Many of Honour’, smoke filled floating bubbles for the track ‘Bubbles’, as well as pyro shots, confetti and streamer cannons, all to the delight of the packed main stage crowd.

The Darkness shot back to the stage to headline Download Festival this year. Their electric return to form found us shooting confetti & streamer cannons, firing a healthy dose of on stage pyro and our 5 fingar flames & co2 jets to add to the madness of their top live performance.

Quantum Special Effects were delighted to be approached by Katie Melua’s team to produce and new and unique effect for her acclaimed European tour.

We designed, engineered and toured (thanks Bradley ‘Bubbles’ Saunders) a 30′ bubble truss which produced slowly falling, smoke filled bubbles which created and entrancing linear-screen of pearly orbs that landed perfectly on the stage. It’s truly an effect that has to be seen to be believed!
