Quantum was honoured to be once again involved in the Olympic celebrations. This time we joined all our champions for the Athlete’s Parade in Manchester.

Set up at the main stage in front of the imposing, gothic Manchester city hall we had some proper British weather to contend with. Driving winds and rain followed the athletes along the entire parade but thankfully stopped just before they were due to arrive on stage.

As the first set of athletes stepped on to the stage silver jets shot up in to the air. Then as Rebecca Ferguson sang David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’ we released 30 x e-shots of patriotic red, white and blue streamers. A further 30 kg of red, white and blue confetti was released from four positions in the pit, filling the sky with the colours of the Union Jack.

There was a fantastic turn out of glittery hats, golden wigs, foam fingers all handed out to an excited crowd who were eager to celebrate Team GB’s achievements.
