Quantum provided a unique program of special effects for Black Sabbath’s ‘The End’ Tour.

Having previously supplied the heavy metal band with standard flame bars at Download Festival last year, the Quantum team were asked to take the effect up a notch for the final farewell tour. Two custom linear flame bars and one bespoke circular flame bar were designed in response.

Sitting flat across the top of the amps the new linear bars gave the impression that the speakers were themselves on fire whilst the circular bar lined the back of the gong sitting center stage, creating a halo of fire behind drummer Tommy Clufetos.

Adding even more fire to the mix were 10 G-Flames stationed upstage just behind the flaming amps. Fired in sync with the guitar riffs, flames punctuated the air during classic tracks such as Black Sabbath, War Pigs and Children of the Grave.

Finishing the night was a storm of black and purple confetti custom printed with the Black Sabbath trademark for song Paranoid. In order to achieve a full coverage of confetti for the entire 3 minutes of the track, Quantum utilized their unique Q: Stormblasters along with a combination of blowers and stadium shots.

As the band took their final bow, 200 red comets were fired in just three seconds above the stage, creating a fiery farewell fitting for the ‘The End.’
